A man from Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh filed a complaint with the Home Minister against suspected spurious liquor. The man claimed that he failed to get high after consuming liquor and alleged that the liquor contained water.
In an unusual incident, a middle-aged-man in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain district knocked at the doors of the state Home Minister Narottam Nishra, police officials and the excise department with a complaint against suspected spurious liquor. Despite consuming two bottles of liquor, he failed to get intoxicated, which turned him suspicious, prompting him to approach the Home Minister.
The man identified as Lokendra Sathiya, a resident of BahadurGanj in Ujjain, purchased four quarters of desi liquor on April 12.
Lokesh had also complained to shop employees about the adulterated liquor, but they did not listen and asked him to do what he can do against them.
Lokesh, who is addicted to liquor, has not only sent a complaint to the Madhya Pradesh Home Minister but also handed a letter to the officials of the excise department suspecting that the liquor could be fake. He has also submitted the remaining bottles of the liquor as evidence for his complaint.
Alleging that the liquor contained water, the man handed over the two remaining liquor bottles to the excise officers saying they should verify the contents and take strict action against the concerned contractor.
Commenting on the issue, an excise official, Ramhans Pachori, told India Today, "We are yet to receive a complaint in this matter. If we get a complaint, we will take stringent action against those found guilty."
