No injuries after fire in Regina apartment building

Regina Fire & Protective Services is investigating a fire that broke out at a downtown apartment building on Tuesday night.
Crews responded to the Centre Pointe Plaza Apartment complex, located on the 2100 block of Broad Street, at 5:39 p.m. CST. Deputy Chief Gord Hewitt said they located a fire on the balcony of a suite on the 11th floor.
The fire was "controlled quickly" before it could spread to other suites, Hewitt said, but it did have "a minor extension" to the suites above and below.
Hewitt said most of the residents were able to go back into the building by midnight.
The occupants of five suites had to find temporary accommodations due to water damage.
There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Hewitt said firefighters also had to respond to another fire in a townhouse on Rochdale Boulevard soon after the one on Broad Street.
The deputy chief called the response to the second fire "fortunate," as crews were able to respond shortly after the first fire was contained.
No one was hurt and the investigation into that fire is ongoing.
