India Today
Prepaid users of Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea no longer receive SMS benefits with entry-level recharge plans. Telecom majors in India have stopped offering bundled SMS with their entry-level recharge plans and is being seen as a move to increase ARPU.
Prepaid users in India will no longer receive SMS benefits with low-cost prepaid recharge packs. The decision, by telecom operators including Vodafone Idea (Vi), Jio, Airtel and others, brings the changes to prepaid recharge packs priced under Rs 100. This is a massive strategy move by major telecom companies lately, and it's worth noting that the development isn't new. Prior to the recent change, telecom operators used to offer a bundled package of call time, SMS, and data for internet usage with their entry-level packages. The new move will now remove the bundled SMS offering from this lot.More Related News
