RCMP in Yellowknife say there is so far "no indication of criminality" in connection with a fire on Thursday at Sunridge Place apartments.
Police also confirmed in a news release on Friday that no injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
RCMP said they received a report of the fire at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Soon after, smoke could be seen pouring out of one of the buildings in the apartment complex.
There is no word on the cause of the fire. RCMP said the Office of the Fire Marhsal is responsible for the investigation. CBC News reached out to the Fire Marshal, but hasn't received any details.
There is also no word yet on whether any residents have been displaced because of the fire. CBC News has contacted both the City of Yellowknife and the N.W.T. Housing Corporation — several apartments in Sunridge are public housing units — but has not had a response.
