Nitish Kumar will soon be behind bars like Lalu Yadav: BJP takes swipe at Bihar CM
India Today
BJP leader Vijay Kumar Sinha said that if corruption continues unchecked in Bihar, Nitish Kumar will soon find himself joining Lalu Yadav in jail.
BJP leader Vijay Kumar Sincha launched a scathing attack against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying that the JD(U) leader will soon find himself behind bars if corruption continues unabated in the state.
The Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared his intention of making the country corruption-free. The people of this country are committed towards making India corruption and crime-free. Nitish Kumar will then realise the sins he has committed, the result of which will be that he will also land where his elder brother (Lalu Yadav) has gone (jail)."
Notably, the BJP leader’s comment comes amid the demand for the withdrawal of general consent to CBI by leaders of the Mahagathbandhan.
Earlier, a war of words broke out between JDU and BJP leaders after Nitish Kumar said that the saffron party will not get more than 50 seats in the 2024 general elections. Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar later retracted his earlier statement, but the BJP has continued to take a jibe at the Bihar CM over the remark.
BJP leader and former deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad said, "Nitish Kumar's comment are ridiculous and manifests the political depression he is undergoing. It was with BJP's support that the JDUN won 16 seats in 2109 general elections from two seats it got in 2014. Nitish's remarks against Narendra Modi are like showing oil lamp to the sun. Nitish Kumar could not save Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh and also was never able to form government in Bihar on his own since 2005, and predicting BJP will get less than 50 seats showed he was in depression.”
