Nitish Kumar dismisses speculation, says no desire to become President

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has dismissed speculation surrounding him being the presidential candidate of the Opposition, saying he has no desire to become the next President.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has once again dismissed the speculation of him becoming the presidential candidate from the Opposition and said that he has neither any desire nor aspiration to become the President.
Nitish Kumar said that he himself was very surprised from where the talks of making him the presidential candidate of the Opposition come from.
"Who is going to Delhi? It all goes on like this. There is no such thing. I was very surprised to hear about me becoming the presidential candidate," Nitish Kumar said.

He further said that he has nothing to do with the rumours and he had no information whether he was being considered as presidential candidate. He added that no one ever spoke to him in this regard.
"I have nothing to do with such things and have no knowledge. Such discussions are meaningless. I have no desire or aspiration [to become President],” Nitish Kumar said.
On Friday, Nitish met political strategist Prashant Kishor in Delhi and after that there was speculation in the media that Nitish was being considered for presidential candidate by the Opposition, later this year when the presidential election takes place.
