Lakhbir Singh’s lynching is not the first instance of attack by members of the Nihang community at Singhu border. A 24-year-old man claimed a Nihang assaulted him with a sword at the farmers’ protest site in April.
Lakhbir Singh’s lynching is not the first instance of attack by members of the Nihang community at Singhu border. India Today has learnt that Nihangs assaulted another person with swords at the farmers’ protest site in April this year.
The victim, Shekhar, said that on April 12, he got into a verbal spat with Nihangs who were blocking traffic movement during the ongoing farmers’ stir at Singhu border. The 24-year-old claimed that the protesting Nihangs abused him and attacked him with swords, leaving a deep wound on his left hand.
