NGO helps 100 members of transgender community get Covid-19 vaccine at Kolkata hospital

An NGO assisted around a hundred people from the transgender community in getting vaccinated against Covid-19 at a private hospital in Kolkata.

Around a hundred people from the transgender community were vaccinated against Covid-19 on Saturday at a private hospital in Kolkata. The 'Together We Can Foundation' -- a non-profit welfare organisation -- looked to address the concerns and hesitations of the transgender community and helped them get vaccinated. Kajol Mondol, a transgender from Kolkata, said: "I did not go to the government hospital as I feared I would be bullied and socially alienated. I was scared people would mock me, ridicule me or would be denied the vaccine."
