The in-laws and husband of a newlywed bride in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, have filed a police complaint after they found out that she is four months pregnant.
The in-laws and husband of a newlywed bride in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, filed a police complaint after they found out that she was four months pregnant, while she had only been married for one-and-a-half months.
Her pregnancy came to light when she complained of abdominal pain. After the sonography, her in-laws found out that she was expecting a baby. After that, they refused to take her home.
Her husband submitted a written complaint to the police station. He mentioned that, through a relative of the village, he had been married to a girl from the neighbouring district a month and a half ago. But even before he could settle down properly, he became a victim of fraud.
The husband and his family accused the girl and her parents of fraud, stating that they already knew about her pregnancy but hid the truth.
Kolhui SHO, Abhishek Singh, said that the police are investigating the whole matter thoroughly.
