New Windows 11 update brings changes to notifications, fixes bugs
India Today
Windows 11 will now display three high-priority notifications along with one normal notification as before, thanks to a new update.
Windows 11 just got slightly better, thanks to the recent KB5011563 update. The update brings a handy new feature, along with some improvements to the most-used operating system on computers. Note that it is an optional update and will not install automatically.
Windows 11 users can thus check for the update KB5011563 under the Windows Update settings on their system. Those wanting it can then download the optional update by clicking on Download and Install. What will this update bring? Here is a look.
The latest Windows 11 update is optional as it doesn't bring too many changes to the operating system. What it does have, is a handy feature that will display up to four high-priority notifications simultaneously, a much-needed upgrade for those who often saw their Windows notifications lost by ones that arrived later. Of these, three will be high priority notifications and one will be a normal priority notification. The new feature first appeared on a recent version of Windows 11 for Insiders.
Other than the feature, Microsoft has fixed an issue with the OneDrive file. Some users complained that the OneDrive files lost focus when renamed and Enter was pressed. In addition, the new Windows 11 update comes with fixes for issues with SystemSettings.exe and Searchindexer.exe.
Microsoft also claims to have fixed the issue that increased the startup time for Windows 11 on some systems. As per the company, the issue occurred because of a UI thread in a networking API that stopped responding "when a 5G wireless wide area network (WWAN) device is slow to wake up."
The new Windows update comes a week before the mandatory update that Microsoft will release in the first week of April. Other than those mentioned above, the company has listed several bug fixes under the new update and those experiencing issues with their Windows 11 system may want to check out the update on Microsoft's website once.
To do so, Windows 11 users will have to visit Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for the KB5011563 update. A simple download and install option would then update their system to the new version.
