New Suzuki Alto revealed for Japan
India Today
Before the speculations start though, this particular Suzuki Alto is in no way a sibling to the India-spec Maruti Suzuki Alto, and so will not share any similarities, nor does it hint at its launch here.
Suzuki Motor Corporation unveiled the Japan-spec Suzuki Alto Kei ahead of its scheduled launch in the market, with heavy cosmetic upgrades to both its exterior and interior. Before the speculations start though, this particular Suzuki Alto is in no way a sibling to the India-spec Maruti Suzuki Alto, and so will not share any similarities, nor does it hint at its launch here. The Suzuki Alto is now boxier than before and features new styling updates to keep the quirkiness of the small car intact. Along with the styling updates, the 9th generation Suzuki Alto will also deploy a mild-hybrid system with the petrol unit upon its launch in Japan early next year.
The exterior design of the 2022 Suzuki Alto is a huge departure from its predecessor but retains the quirkiness. The new Suzuki Alto retains the boxy design and the proportions, but what does change in the new car is that it now features trapezoidal headlights in a new design, while the bumper, grille, and hood are more angular than before. A horizontal strip takes position above the air dam, while the insert inside the headlight separates the halogen lights from the turn indicators. The silhouette is more squarish than before, accentuated by the upright A-pillar and near-flat rear-end. The profile is also slightly redesigned to complement the overall look with rounded styling. The rear receives a new pair of taillamps, as well as new rear bumpers. The dual-tone color scheme definitely kicks things up in the right direction, but still lacks the punch that the older generation offered.
