A library in New Jersey announced that it received a book return 44 years after its due date. The book was originally due for a 1979 return, according to its "intact" checkout card.
Photos uploaded by the library system show the returned book was a plain blue hardcover entitled "Back to Basics," which was written by the 1977 editors of Flying Magazine, and was published by the Van Nostrand Reinhold Co. "This book finally found its way back to the library today after 44 years," the Mercer County Library System wrote on Facebook and Twitter.
