New excise policy: 40% of private liquor shops to shut down in Delhi from October 1

At least 40 per cent of the private liquor shops in Delhi will be shut from October 1 as the government's new excise policy kicks in. Private liquor shops will open again in Delhi from November 17 under the new policy.
Due to the implementation of the new excise policy, 40 per cent of private liquor shops in Delhi will be shut from October 1.
At present, there are 720 active liquor shops in Delhi. In this, 260, or 40 per cent, are private shops. The remaining 60 per cent are government liquor shops, of which 88 are country liquor and 372 shops are English liquor shops.
