The extension is worth $34.25 million and runs through 2027, according to sports salary tracker Spotrac. The $17.125 million yearly average outpaces New York Giants tight end Darren Waller, who had been the league’s highest-paid player in the position, with a salary of $17 million per year, per Spotrac. Chiefs starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes celebrated the news with a post reading, “I told y’all I’ll never let him leave!! Congrats my guy!”
