New California law will allow ex-offenders to seal criminal records
Fox News
A new California law signed by Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom will automatically seal convictions and arrest records for many ex-offenders. Supports say it will help them get jobs.
Under the law, arrest records that do not result in convictions would also be sealed.
People convicted of serious and violent felonies, and felonies requiring them to register as sex offenders would be excluded.
