New Bihar Police order directs all officials to not use mobile phones, social media on duty

The Bihar DGP has issued the order after a number of complaints and reports were registered about police personnel appearing to be too busy on their mobile phones while being on duty.
Police in Bihar on Tuesday were directed to not use mobiles or any electronic device and to not be active on social media while on traffic or VIP/VVIP duty. The order was issued by the Bihar DGP (Director-General of Police) SK Singhal in a letter addressed to all the senior police officials of the state. Any officer found violating the order would face disciplinary charges, said the new guidelines.
