Maharashtra cabinet minister Nawab Malik appeared before the single member Chandiwal Commission probing corruption allegations against former state home minister Anil Deshmukh. Malik said he had never made any statement pertaining to the probe proceedings.
Malik had been summoned by the commission to explain a media report with regards to his statement against Param Bir Singh and dismissed Mumbai Cop Sachin Vaze.
Malik, who was in the room for less than an hour when commission proceedings were being held, denied making any statements.
Malik said, "I have never made any statement based on proceedings of the commission and will never do so in future."
Earlier this week, Sachin Vaze submitted a pursis along with a news article which purportedly quoted Malik as stating that former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh and Waze were behind the ‘Antilia’ bomb scare case. Waze is already under arrest in the case while Singh was summoned by NIA.
Through his written statement, Vaze had claimed that Malik’s allegations were based on the statements of Anil Deshmukh which were made before the commission.
