Speaking at a convocation, the Andhra Pradesh governor said that NEP 2020 is going to change the educational landscape of the country
Addressing the 20th convocation ceremony of the Sri Krishnadevaraya University on Thursday, the Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan, expressed his happiness at the information that universities across the state are taking steps to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and that the policy is expected to usher in a new era in the Indian higher education system and bring about a fundamental change in the education landscape of the country.
The Andhra Pradesh governor further said, "NEP-2020 was considered to be very comprehensive, highly vibrant, and flexible, and expected to shape the younger generation into a sound ethical base with a strong sense of social responsibility."
"The Covid-19 pandemic has taught us that change was inevitable and the opportunities created by it will lead us towards a better tomorrow," he added.
He then remarked further, "The pandemic worked as a catalyst for the academic community to adapt and opt for platforms with technologies that enabled the teaching faculty and the student community to overcome the difficulties posed by the pandemic, over the past two years."
The governor went on to remark that the recognition of the university by NITI Aayog for setting up the 'Atal Incubation Centre' was a proud achievement for the country.
He added that he hoped that this centre would encourage rural innovations while fostering entrepreneurship in sustainable development, as well as extend support to other academic institutions in the region.
