The rock icon said he's worried about what may happen following his upcoming stops in Europe.
Rock legend Neil Young ― a fierce critic of President Donald Trump ― on Tuesday voiced fears that he may not be allowed to reenter the United States after his upcoming European tour.
On his official website, the Canadian-born musician ― who in 2020 became a dual Canadian-American citizen ― shared his concern of being detained on his return to the U.S. amid reports that some people critical of Trump have been denied entry into the country.
“When I go to play music in Europe, if I talk about Donald J. Trump, I may be one of those returning to America who is barred or put in jail to sleep on a cement floor with an aluminum blanket,” he wrote. “That is happening all the time now. Countries have new advice for those returning to America.”
Young continued: “If I come back from Europe and am barred, can’t play my USA tour, all of the folks who bought tickets will not be able to come to a concert by me.”
“If the fact that I think Donald Trump is the worst president in the history of our great country could stop me from coming back, what does that say for Freedom?” he asked.
