Setting an example for other states, Himachal Pradesh has reported negative wastage of Covid-19 vaccines. According to sources, the vaccine wastage factor for procured vaccines is -2 and for state-procured vaccines it is -1 per cent in Himachal Pradesh. To investigate this, India Today TV visited the biggest hospital in Shimla, India Gandhi Medical College’s vaccine centre to see how vaccination was being done for those above 18 years. "We don’t waste a single dose of vaccine at our centre. Our motto is 'one dose-one life'. We request people to wait and they cooperate with us. One vial only works for 4 hours. We extract over 10.5 doses from one vial because there is an extra dose in the vial," Dr Saad Rizvi, in-charge of the vaccination centre at IGMC, told India Today TV.
