Athletics Federation of India names 37-member contingent for CWG 2022
The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) on Thursday, June 16 named a 37-member contingent for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in July. 18 of the 37-member squad picked by the AFI are women while the star attraction will be Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Neeraj Chopra, who recently broke his own national record at a World Continental Tour event in Finland.
As many as 3 members have been named to the men's javelin squad, which includes Neeraj, Rohit Yadav and DP Manu while the AFI has also named a 4x400m relay team for the multi-sporting event. The likes of Dutee Chand and Hima Das will also be back in action after being name in the 4x100m relay team.
