The recipe that Neena Gupta shared is pretty simple. Just ensure you have all the ingredients available before you proceed. The first step is to boil chickpeas (soaked overnight) and moong sprouts in separate utensils. Don’t forget to add bay leaves and salt while boiling the chickpeas. Ensure to not overcook the sprouts too. Neena Gupta used a pressure cooker to boil the chickpeas and an open vessel for sprouts.
The next step is to heat some oil in a wok and then add mustard seeds followed by cumin seeds, hing (asafetida) and curry leaves. Once they splutter, add a bit of ginger-garlic paste and stir for a while. Now, add the chopped onions and let them cook until they turn golden brown. Keep stirring in between.
The next step is to add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and a bit of garam masala. Give it all a good mix. Now, add the chopped tomatoes and wait for them to turn soft. Once done, add the boiled sprouts and chickpeas. Mix all the ingredients in the wok.
