Need to question ex-cop Sachin Vaze on alleged extortion of cricket bookies: Mumbai Police

While seeking further custody of Sachin Vaze on Saturday, the Mumbai Police said it needs to question him regarding the accusation that he, along with former Mumbai top cop Param Bir Singh, extorted money from cricket bookies by threatening to arrest them.
On Saturday, dismissed police officer Sachin Vaze was sent to further Mumbai Police custody till November 13 in connection with the Goregaon extortion case.
While seeking further custody of Sachin Vaze, the Mumbai Police said it needs to interrogate him regarding the accusation that he and former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh extorted money from cricket bookies by threatening them with arrest. The manner in which this was done has to be investigated, said the Mumbai Police Crime Branch.
