Former IT Minister criticizes NDA government for failing to fulfil promises, vows YSRCP will stand by people and protest.
Former IT Minister Gudivada Amarnath has said that the NDA government has completely failed to meet the expectations of people in the first six months of its rule, by failing to implement the promised welfare schemes. He said that the year 2024 has shown people the difference between a government that honours its promises and the one that goes back on election promises and betraying the people who have voted for them.
Addressing a media conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Amarnath said that the NDA government has failed to implement the super six promises, with input subsidy and fee reimbursement taking a back seat and power tariff being increased.
He said that in the past six months, the State incurred a debt of ₹1.12 lakh crore, but not even one of the super six promises made by Mr. N. Chandrbabu Naidu was implemented. Students, farmers, youth, women and all sections of people were feeing betrayed and were now regretting for having voted for the TDP-JSP-BJP alliance, he said.
“The YSRCP would stand by the people and be its voice to expose the failures of the government and mount pressure on pressing issues. YSRCP president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would tour all the districts and lead from the front in being voice of the people and mount pressure on the coalition government on the issues,” he said.
The YSRCP has taken up agitation against the increased power tariff and farmers issue and would launch protests on January 29 on the fee reimbursement issue, he said.
Fishermen association members, who participated in the fishermen grievance redress meeting held at the District Collectorate in Nagercoil on Friday, sought issuance of subsidy for diesel and implementation of advanced technologies and establishment of control rooms on the shore for rescuing fishermen during emergencies at sea.
