NCERT release statement to clarify poem in Class 1 Hindi textbook after concerns rose on language

NCERT has released official statement to clarify the perspective of including the poem in Class 1 Hindi textbook.

Some people raised concerns about the usage of the word ‘Chokri’ to refer to a young girl in a poem included in the NCERT textbook. With reference to inclusion of poems in NCERT textbooks: It is to state that, "in consonance with NCF-2005 perspective and with an objective to provide children an exposure to vocabulary of local languages, these poems were included at that time. National Council of Educational Research & Training, NCERT has released an official statement clarifying the poem included in the Class 1 Hindi Textbook.
