Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle and, suddenly, Immanuel Quickley have the Knicks in the midst of a nine-game winning streak -- the best in the league and enough to catapult them to the No. 1 spot in this week's Power Rankings.
The Knicks supplant the Milwaukee Bucks, who finally lost a game after 16 straight wins. The Denver Nuggets just quietly keep putting up wins, but they occupy the second spot this week due to the quality of the Knicks' opponents. Jumping into the top five are the new-look Phoenix Suns, who took home victories in their first three games with Kevin Durant this week.
With so many teams jam-packed in the standings, one good week can mean a huge leap, which happened to the Minnesota Timberwolves this week. They move up 11 spots, while the Charlotte Hornets suffered the biggest drop following a season-ending injury to LaMelo Ball. Another precipitous fall landed the Los Angeles Clippers in the bottom half of the rankings, as they finally got their first win with Russell Westbrook after several losses.
