
Navratri fever hits Gujarat, loudspeakers till midnight, restaurants to remain open till later

To celebrate Navratri, the Gujarat government has given permission to play loudspeakers till midnight. Eateries have also been allowed to function till after midnight for Garba lovers to enjoy.
On the occasion of Navratri, the Gujarat government has given permission to play loudspeakers till midnight, even on Dusshera. Garba will also be allowed till midnight and restaurants and eateries will remain open even after midnight.
Gujarat home minister Harsh Sanghavi said, “ The festival of Maa Durga, Navratri, is an important part of Gujarati culture and the soul of every Gujarati. Giving priority to joy, faith and emotions of the people, permission is given for loudspeakers till 12 midnight.”
Home minister Sanghavi further said, “Since Garba will be played till midnight, we will allow restaurants and eateries to be open even after midnight. Garba lovers can enjoy food. Gujaratis are known for enjoying the festival and enjoying food. Instead of prohibition, we work more on proper management. Everything will be taken care of."
