Early morning Aarti was performed at the Mumba Devi Temple in Mumbai on the eighth day of Navratri. The 9-day-long festival of Shardiya Navratri is dedicated to Maa Durga and her nine avatars. The grand Hindu festival is celebrated with great pomp and show across the country.
Devotees thronged the temple to offer prayers on Durga Ashtami. In view of the large crowd of devotees, adequate arrangements have also been made by the temple administration.

Mumba Devi Mandir is the oldest temple in Mumbai, which is dedicated to the goddess Mumba, the local avatar of the Devi Maa. Said to be established by fishermen, the Mumba Devi temple is believed to be 400 years old.
According to ABP reports, Hemant Jadhav, manager of Shri Mumba Devi Temple Trust, said, Durga Saptashati is being recited in the temple by 25 pandits. On October 4, Navami Havan will start from 6 am in the morning, he added.
