A 53-year-old assistant lecturer in Navi Mumbai was cheated of Rs 80,000 while he was trying to book a helicopter service for the annual Kedarnath Yatra.
An FIR was registered at the New Panvel police station in Navi Mumbai on April 27.
According to a report published in The Indian Express, the accused had listed his own mobile number on Google as that of a helicopter service in Kedarnath, Uttarakhand.
About 17 people, including the complainant, decided to go to Kedarnath from Sirsi in a helicopter. The complainant searched on Google for helicopter services and reached a website called 'Heli Services'.

He made a call at the number provided on the website and inquired about the charges for a helicopter ride from Sirsi to Kedarnath.
The cyber fraudster said it would cost nearly Rs 80,000 for 17 people.
