National SC/ST commissioner arrives in Chennai to question DMK minister over using casteist slur against BDO

Arun Halder, the National SC/ST Commissioner, arrived in Chennai on Monday to question DMK minister Rajakannappan for using a casteist slur against a Block Development Officer.
The National SC/ST Commissioner, Arun Halder, arrived in Chennai to question DMK minister Rajakannappan, who allegedly used a caste slur against a Block Development Officer (BDO).
DMK minister Rajakannappan was caught in a controversy after he allegedly addressed a BDO with a caste slur. Ironically, Rajakannappan, the State Transport Minister, was given the Backward Classes Welfare portfolio after irregularities were unearthed in the Transport Department.
Since the National SC/ST Commission received a complaint against the minister for calling the BDO a caste slur, Arun Haldar, the Commissioner, has arrived in Chennai to investigate the matter and question minister Rajakannappan.
The Director General of Police (DGP) and Chief Secretary have also been asked to appear during the questioning.
