A National Guard member stationed in Washington, D.C., to protect the Capitol died after suffering a medical emergency while off duty, a spokesperson for the force said Thursday.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the Guard’s joint task force in DC said the death was under investigation. "Joint Task Force District of Columbia is sad to confirm the death of a National Guard member serving with the U.S. Capitol security mission due to an apparent medical emergency. The individual was not on duty at the time, and the incident is under investigation," the spokesperson said.More Related News
