Narrow escape: Speeding car coming down the wrong side hits traffic cop in Bhopal

The traffic police personnel was attempting to stop the car coming down the wrong side, but instead of slowing down, the driver did the opposite.

A traffic police officer in Bhopal had a narrow escape on Sunday after he was hit by a speeding car and nearly run over. The incident took place on Sunday morning at the Retghat three-way intersection, when a car travelled down the wrong side of Raja Bhoj Setu at high speed. The road was closed due to the ongoing lockdown and only the section from Retghat to Kamla Park was open to traffic. Spotting the car coming from the wrong direction, the traffic police personnel tried to stop the vehicle. But instead of slowing down or coming to a halt, the driver of the car accelerated, hit the officer, veered around the police barricade and vanished from the scene.
