The state government on Friday approved the appointment of the next of kin of the Mon district firing incident victims to the vacant posts in the offices and departments.
The Nagaland government will give government jobs to the next of kin of the civilians who were killed in the firing in Oting-Tiru village in Mon district on December 4 and Mon town on December 5 last year.

The order issued by Abhijit Sinha, Home Commissioner of Nagaland, stated that the state government has approved the appointment of the next kin of 12 victims.
As many as 14 civilians and one security personnel died in the violent incidents in Mon district on December 4 and 5 last year.
Out of 14 victims, the Nagaland government approved the appointment of the next kin of 12 victims.
The next to kin of the victims will be appointed to Grade IV posts in various offices, departments of the state government in Mon district.
The Nagaland government had formed an 8-member SIT to probe into the killing of 14 civilians in Mon district and later the Nagaland SIT had extended to 22 officers, including five IPS officers, to expedite the probe.
