Nadia rape case: Didn't know she was bleeding, says 'BA' doctor who gave medicines to victim
India Today
A doctor with a 'Bachelor of Arts' degree who initially prescribed medication to Nadia's rape victim said he had no idea she was bleeding when her mother brought her in.
A 'BA' pass doctor who treated the Nadia rape victim in West Bengal said he had no idea the victim was bleeding or had even been raped.
"I'm the village doctor. My academic degree is a BA. Her mother came to me at 4 am on April 5. She informed me that her daughter was experiencing stomach pain. I prescribed some medication, including anti-acid and paracetamol. She didn't say why she was in pain. She didn't even tell me she was bleeding. She died before she had a chance to take the medication," said Samir Biswas, the village's sole doctor.

"Neighbors informed me of her death. After that, I went to their house. It was around 7 am at the time. There was no sign of a body. It had already been cremated at that point," Biswas told India Today.
Biswas added, "She was allegedly raped, it was revealed after her death. It was not my responsibility to contact the authorities. The police, on the other hand, inquired about the medication I had prescribed."
"The Panchyat in our village issues death certificates. I agree that mistakes were made," said Biswas.
