N.S. finance minister tables Financial Measures Act, says he has COVID-19

Nova Scotia Finance Minister Allan MacMaster told reporters on Friday via video link that he's recovering from a mild case of the COVID-19.
Finance Minister Allan MacMaster has tabled the Financial Measures Act in the legislature.
The Act provides the legislative authority to implement the measures that have financial consequences in the spring budget, which was introduced last week.
The budget contains tax measures including the Non-Resident Deed Transfer and Property Taxes Act which is expected to generate $81 million in revenue.
There is also a refundable tax credit for children’s sports and arts activities which is estimated to cost $4.7 million in the 2022-23 fiscal year.
The finance minister also said he has contracted COVID-19.
MacMaster told reporters Friday via video link that he’s recovering from a mild case of the disease at his home in Cape Breton.
He said he first began to experience symptoms on Monday.
