Less than a week after classes began in New Brunswick public schools, a number of them are closed due to cases of COVID-19, especially in the Campbellton area.
All city schools in the francophone and anglophone school districts have cases of COVID-19, in addition to the Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick Campbellton campus, the city's mayor said, and all but one school in the city is closed today. In a Facebook post Sunday night, Mayor Ian Comeau said these schools include: Le Galion des Appalaches will remain open because only one class is affected, he said. Students at Sugarloaf High will be learning remotely. "Wave four is upon us here in Zone 5 and in New Brunswick," Comeau said. Parents received emails and phone calls about the closures on Sunday, he said, adding that parents were messaging him over the weekend about feeling unwell, along with their children.More Related News
