N.B. COVID-19 roundup: Update from health minister expected this afternoon
CBC
Health Minister Dorothy Shephard is expected to hold a news conference alongside the CEOs of the Horizon and Vitalité health networks Friday.
They will to address the situation at New Brunswick's hospitals as both regional health authorities are under red alert level protocols for COVID-19 and several hospitals are over capacity.
The update is scheduled for 3 p.m. and will include Shephard, Dr. France Desrosiers, president and CEO of Vitalité Health Network, and Dr. John Dornan, interim president and CEO of Horizon Health Network.
On Thursday, Premier Blaine Higgs said he requested the update because he knows people have "a lot of questions."
"They are on the front lines and can better explain what is happening," he said at the COVID briefing Thursday.
New Brunswick had reached a "terrible milestone," said Higgs, recording two more deaths that pushed the death toll into triple digits at 101.
The day before, New Brunswick's death toll became the highest in Atlantic Canada.
As of Thursday, the province's active case count was 763.
Fifty-five people were hospitalized because of the virus, including one person 19 or under, and 16 people were in intensive care.
The following are exposure notices from the past few weeks. For the full list beyond this time period, please visit the Government of New Brunswick's website, which was redesigned and now clearly separates new exposure notices from previously reported exposure notices.
