The Mysuru Rail Museum will celebrate International Heritage Day 2025 on the museum premises with a slew of contests for school students on April 18.
A release stated that this year’s theme is “Disaster and Conflict Resilient Heritage”, which focuses on the preparedness and actions required to protect cultural heritage under threat from natural disasters and armed conflicts.
The museum will conduct a poster-making contest and a drawing or painting competition. The participants can use any medium – water color, crayons, pencil, etc. – and it has to be on A3 (297mm × 420mm) sized paper.
The theme for the contest is “Exploring Heritage – Preserving the Past, Inspiring the Future,” and schoolchildren are eligible to participate in the competition centred around heritage themes.
This event aims to inspire creativity, foster learning, and encourage young minds to appreciate the rich cultural and historical legacy of India, the release added.
The participants will be clubbed in one of the three groups based on their age: 6 to 9, 10-13, and 14-17. The contestants can choose one of the themes, which are “Railways & Heritage”, “Mysuru’s Cultural Legacy”, “Monuments & Historical Places”, “Traditional Art & Crafts”, and “Sustainable Preservation of Heritage.”
The organisers will provide only art paper and crayons to the participants, the release added. Winners from each of the three groups will get prizes, and certificates will be issued to all participants.
