Mysore University withdraws notification restricting women's movement following gang rape incident

The University of Mysore withdrew the notification which had restricted women from moving alone inside Gangothri campus after 6:30 pm following the gang rape incident in Mysuru.

The University of Mysore withdrew its notification restricting the movement of women following the gang rape incident in Mysuru. As per the notification, girl students were disallowed from moving alone inside Gangothri campus after 6:30 pm. According to the circular released by the university registrar on Friday, people were also asked not to visit Kukkarahalli Lake premises after 6 pm as a precautionary measure. Additionally, security officers were directed to make arrangements to patrol the lake area between 6-9 pm.
