Real Madrid are up against Liverpool in the Champions League final scheduled to be played in Paris on Sunday.
Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino, whose team was knocked out by Real Madrid in the round of 16 in the Champions League this season, said that he will be supporting Los Blancos in the final against Liverpool.Pochettino’s team was defeated by a stunning Karim Benzema hat-trick in the second half of the second leg of the round of 16 tie, crashing the star-studded team out of the tournament.
Speaking ahead of the final, the Argentine said that his heart remained with the Spanish team.
“It is clear that my heart is much whiter than red,” Pochettino told Spanish publication Marca.
“My soft spot for Madrid comes from 1994, when I arrived in Barcelona. I was lucky that my coach was Jose Antonio Camacho, who transmitted that love for Real Madrid to me,” he further explained.
The manager has been linked to jobs outside of PSG for a while now and might leave Paris sometime in the next season.
“I have never been able, as a player and coach, to be at Madrid, but my emotional preference is clear,” the manager said about his love for Madrid.
“The team could not overcome the psychological impact of conceding a goal at the Bernabeu,” he noted.
