A tailor was brutally murdered by two men in Udaipur over a social media post in support of Nupur Sharma. The victim’s sons alleged that their father had complained to the police about threat calls he was receiving, but no action was taken.
In an interview with India Today, the sons of Kanhaiya Lal, who was murdered by 2 men in Udaipur on Tuesday, said that their father received threat calls regularly and had even complained to the police about it. They alleged that the police did not act on Kanhaiya Lal’s complaint.
Kanhaiya Lal, a tailor in Udaipur, was murdered by two men who chopped his head off and later recorded a video admitting to killing the man over a social media post in support of former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.
Speaking to India Today, victim Kanhaiya Lal's sons, Yash and Tarun, claimed that their father would have been alive had police taken action in time.
"My father had posted an objectionable comment on social media by mistake, he was arrested and later got bail. He had also apologised at the police station during the compromise meeting. He was regularly getting threat calls for which he had approached the police several times but cops nver took any action. If timely action was taken, our father would have been alive today," they claimed.
