Muslims in Hyderabad protest against terror attack in Pahalgam, wear black armbands, chant 'Pakistan Murdabad', 'Hindustan Zindabad' slogans.

The protests against the terror attack in Pahalgam in Kashmir, continued in Hyderabad on Friday. Muslims attending congregation prayers wore black armbands at Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad on Friday (April 25, 2025) as a mark of protest against the terror attack. After completing the prayers, they took to streets raising ‘Pakistan Murdabad’, ‘Hindustan Zindabad’ slogans.
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday (April 24, 2025) gave a call to Muslims to wear black armbands in protest. Responding to the call, many staged protests. “Juma Namaz, please do wear black band around your arms to protest the terrorist act perpetrated by LeT in Pahalgam against innocent Indians,” he posted on X on Friday.

In the evening, a candlelight vigil would be led by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy from People’s Plaza to Indira Gandhi Statue. On Thursday, Hindus and Muslims stood shoulder-to-shoulder at Hockey Grounds in Masab Tank protesting against the attack.

What began as a simple way to stay active soon grew into something larger. The couple converted the garden of their Ashok Nagar residence into a pickleball court, now known as Pickleball Point, envisioning it as a lively space where people from all age groups could gather, play and connect. “It started at home, as something for my husband and me to stay engaged,” she says. “As senior citizens, we wanted to enjoy the energy of people coming in and playing,” she further adds.
