Hundreds of musicians and admirers of the Thyaga Brahmam converged at the adhishtanam on the bahula panchami day to render the five prominent krithis (songs) composed by the saint-composer.
The 178th Thyagaraja Aradhana festival saw the rendition of pancharatna krithis, preceded by the playing of Thyagaraja krithis by nadhaswaram exponents. The celebrations came to a close with a maha arathi.
Prominent women Carnatic musicians, such as Sudha Raghunathan, Nithyasree Mahadevan, and Mahathi, and admirers of Thyaga Brahmam, including City Union Bank CEO and MD N. Kamakoti, Sri Thyaga Brahma Mahotsava Sabha president and Rajya Sabha MP G.K. Vasan, among others, participated in the event.
The Sri Thyaga Brahma Mahotsava Sabha had made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Aradhana festival in collaboration with the Thanjavur district administration and the police.
