Russia-Ukraine war news latest updates: As the war entered day 31, Ukrainians in Kyiv turned to music to seek comfort and support.
For the past month, the world has been bombarded with images of the Russian attacks on Ukraine-- buildings damaged in shelling, apartments destroyed in missile attacks, residents fleeing war-torn cities, all the while Ukrainian forces defiantly facing the Russian troops. But as the war continues, Ukrainians have turned to music for comfort and connection in these difficult times.
India Today TV’s Rajesh Pawar captured the moment in Kyiv when music brought the city residents out on the street in a moment of togetherness. With a road-side concert taking place in the background, India Today spoke to residents who had come out to show their unity and support in times of war.
Kate, a resident of Kyiv, said, “Now, I feel safer and stronger than at the start of the war. Because at the start of the war, all I did was stay at home reading news, terrified of all that was happening. But, now we are united, we are volunteering, everybody is doing what they can to win this war.”

Talking about the role music has played in providing support and comfort, Kate said, “I am glad to participate in the concert, a concert that has been organised to communicate with people, to support them with our music and songs and words. Whatever happens, we need to make art, to create music, to sing, because this is the thing that will help us de-stress.”
“Music helps us stay strong,” the young woman asserted.
