
Mumbai: Vehicles engaged in essential services to get colour-coded stickers to avoid traffic jams

In a bid to limit vehicular movement and avert traffic jams amid the Covid-19 curbs, the Mumbai Police has initiated colour-coded stickers for those engaged in essential services.
In a unique initiative for those engaged in essential services to avoid unnecessary traffic, the Mumbai Police has initiated colour-coded stickers for all authorised vehicles which are allowed to ply in the current lockdown-like restrictions. These orders will be in effect from April 18 to May 1. Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale said in a statement that the colour-coded stickers are important so that the healthcare workers like doctors, nurses, medical staffs, vehicles like ambulances and medical suppliers are not stranded in traffic jams. According to the new code, red stickers will be for healthcare workers, yellow stickers shall be for the movement of people engaged in critical services like civic staff, telephones, banking, insurance, railways, press etc.More Related News
