Meanwhile, the death toll reached 19,651 on Monday. Nearly 236 people recovered from the infection, raising the count of recoveries to 11,03,261.
The active caseload stood at 1,901 on Monday, while the recovery rate was at 98 per cent.
As per the report by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), 13,433 swab samples were examined the previous day, taking the total tests in the city to 1,78,29,595.
Maharashtra reported 1,849 fresh cases in the last 24 hours. The total tally of coronavirus cases rose to 80,47,455 with the new infections and the death toll to 1,48,104.
Around 1,853 people were discharged in the last 24 hours. The number of recoveries reached 78,86,348 and the recovery rate stood at 98 per cent.
