The Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested a 75-year-old woman suspected to have been running a drug supply chain in the western suburbs of Mumbai. Officials have seized Hashish worth nearly Rs 1.2 crore from the woman and her associate. Officials from Unit 7 of Mumbai Crime Branch had received input that a drug peddler was going to deliver a Hashish consignment on the Waterfield Road in Bandra near a restaurant on Road number 29 on Saturday. Accordingly, a trap was laid at the spot and police officials in plain clothes from the unit were deployed, officials said. As per the received input from an informant, a man in his late fifties arrived at the spot. The suspect was apprehended by the police officials and a plastic bag that he was carrying was checked. Officials found seven dark-coloured balls of Hashish inside the bag, police said.More Related News
