A video of a man rescuing a dog from railway tracks as a local train approached a station in Mumbai is swiftly going viral on social media. The short clip was posted on Instagram by an account called Mumbai Meri Jaan and has been viewed over 187k times so far.
No details of the exact location have been shared but the incident occurred at a crowded railway station in the Maharashtra capital. People were seen waiting at the platform as the train approached. But, in the midst of this, a stray dog was loitering on the tracks.
Moments later, a man jumped on the tracks and picked up the dog, and handed it over to the people waiting on the platform. All this happened within a really short span of time, as the train was approaching and in between that, the man managed to rescue the dog. Thereafter, people helped the man climb onto the platform from the tracks.

No prizes for guessing that the video has gone viral while social media users applauded the man for saving the dog. Several others also praised the motorman for slowing down the train.
Meanwhile, some people in the comments section pointed out that the incident occurred at the Nalla Sopara railway station, which is on the western line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network.
