
Mumbai man jumps to death to avoid arrest

A man in Mumbai jumped to his death on Friday to avoid getting arrested by the police.
An alleged thief jumped to death from the fourth floor parapet of a building in Mumbai on Friday. The man identified as Rohit was seen standing on the parapet in a video even as police officers prepared a safety net for him on the ground.
For hours, residents, police officers and fire brigade officials tried to convince Rohit to come up near the window for his safety. However, Rohit jumped into the compound of the adjacent building.
He was immediately rushed to JJ hospital where he was declared dead.
According to officials, the man climbed the building to avoid getting arrested for theft.
