A 38-year-old man, who worked as a sales executive hanged himself to death in Malad (East) on Wednesday after recovery agents of an instant loan app sent his morphed nude photos to his colleagues, relatives, friends.

The incident took place in Malad (East) on Wednesday. Kurar police station has registered a case of abetment to suicide and is in the process of identifying the accused.
The brother of the deceased said that the victim was being harassed for a loan which he had not taken. The accused harassed him by calling him 50 times from various cell phone numbers, asking him to repay an online loan.
He further stated that nobody was home when his brother took the drastic step.
The family of the deceased alleged that on April 27, they had filed a police complaint against the accused but no action was taken.
The victim, who worked as a sales executive, received a call from his woman colleague who had received his morphed photos.
Meanwhile, police have identified six different mobile numbers used by the accused for making threat calls and are trying to trace the accused linked to the app. A case has been registered under sections 306, 420, 500 of IPC and section 66(D) of the IT act.
